The song is Theme From Turnpike live at Antwerp on the 0110 Festival. Power sample, courtesy of the great Charlie Mingus (Far Wells Mils Valley), slower than the original. The reaction? Everybody is looking towards that couple with reproving eyes, like if that couple were kind of alliens or some character right out of the Lord Of The Rings. They would joke on her skirt and would joke on his hair.
Everything is apparently wrong with that couple. On the top the music that, at the moment, was heard everywhere on that place, even over that crappy lousy things that we can hear on malls. The sample that makes the rhythm is so powerful and so heavy that the silence is general. The trumpet can be heard like a sign for the troops to get ready or like the noise of the arriving train. Then you have the voice, industrial and heavily distorted. "He went to the bottom, put is soul on fire / He went to the bottom, put his soul on fire / The New Jersey Turnpike riding on wet night / The New Jersey Turnpike riding on wet night / Maybe he got the time /Maybe he got the rhyme / Maybe he got it wrong counterclockwise.... Yeah". By this time the layers of the songs are upsetting the people, there is something like a bacterian thing that starts flowing through their veins that is pulling them out of consumist thoughts and irrational statements and judgements. They start to think "Why is this happening?". The couple... The couple remains on their calm conversation ignoring that the song that they are mentally playing on being heard by everybody. Then the singer would say "He said!" two times and by this time, this couple is understanding that something is not wrong in that place. People are looking to them with the same eyes, but not reproving them, intead they are kind of analyising the couple.
They can see their happiness and they can see the way they look each other in the eye and how they sincerely smile.
"The New Jersey Turnpike riding on wet night / The New Jersey Tunrpike riding on wet night / May be he got the soul / Maybe he got the size / Maybe he got it wrong counterclockwise... Yeah" The song is going and growing. Layer after layer, the main sample, the bass lines, the smooth guitar, the slight drums combined with the same voice, now clean, answering and completely another strange voice that says "He said" on what the first answers "No More Loud Music" three times and this is the antecipation of the war.
Everyone is rising because they found out that all of the bad feelings that they were having were being provoqued by the evil (or maybe beautiful) thoughts on the head of that couple. But right on the moment that everyone is rising of their chairs, the voice of the song says "I told you once, i told you twice" and then the song explodes on
all the power of distorted guitars, the powerful sample, the heavy trumpet and people sit down almost falling off the chairs and when the trumpet shuts down they try again but that roar will come again and will be repeated some times until the voice says "Check it out" and the song goes through a totaly perfect section where bass, guitars and drums are more than coordinated an you can hear some strange noises back there.
By this time is where everyone will have a glimpse of all the dirty things they have done, and all the ugly things they had thought. Even though they find some energy to drive their forces towards the couple. The couple remains steady because love is by their side and the truth is on their side, the voice goes on saying "Come on" twice, the angry mob is even more angry and their fury goes to the limit when they hear the same voice "You got something to say? Come on tell me right now!!!" And they run, run towards the couple, and it seems that those two beautiful specimens of the human being are going to be crushed by the mob, just because they are different and because they don't care about nothing but the love they have for each other and when the crowd is nearly in the top of that perfect couple the voice says "And its all agains you (people) and it's you against the AHAHHH" and right next to these quotes, some savage screams are listened and the normal people cannot hear them, so they put the hands on their ears, but the screams are inside of their souls, they are almost burning, their blood is fairing in the veins and the screams stop, getting back to that section that preceeded the screams but it's a short rest and they come back. Everybody is getting down, nailed by the obvious envy of true love, of true feelings and of true happiness. Everybody now is laying down when the song goes again back to that little section between the screams and then the final ones. There is where everybody just dies and only the couple remains together with some few other pure souls, the only ones that live with love.
